GPLT 320 Business French for Graduate Students - GSA (Advanced French Required)

Description

Winter 2015 2014 - Registration for language courses starts on Dec 17 at 12:00 (noon).

PLEASE NOTE THAT DEADLINE TO WITHDRAW FROM THIS COURSE IS JANUARY 6

Students must have ADVANCED French to enter this course. If you have passed the GSA Intermediate level course you may be eligible to participate. A proficiency pretest will be conducted during the first class. The GSA reserves the right to ask any student to leave, on recommendationof the teacher, if they do not meet minimum proficiency requirements.

Students must attend an assessment on Thurs, Jan 15: 10h15 to 13h00 in H439 orFri, Jan 16: 10h30 to 14h00 in H439

B1 - Thursdays from 18h00 - 21h00 from Jan 29 to March 26 (No classes during reading week)
Attendance requirement: Students must attend fully 85% of the sessions. Students must attend 7 of the 8 sessions.

Ce cours est destiné aux étudiants qui poursuivent une formation en administration des affaires, finance, etc. Il a pour but de donner aux étudiants une capacité à parler, entendre et à faire des présentations en français. Il sera ainsi organisé autour des aspects suivants:
• axé sur l’entreprise et son milieu
• travail sur tout type de document d’entreprise (correspondance commerciale, rapports et comptes rendus, courriels internes...)
• une approche interculturelle qui permet de mieux comprendre le monde du travail français au Québec
• pratique de la langue courante en situation de communication avec une approche culturelle de la langue française au Québec
• développement des compétences linguistiques fondamentales (expression écrite et orale/compréhension écrite et orale/communication interpersonnelle)
• méthodes communicatives s'appuyant sur des documents authentiques

Most beneficial aspect: Trainer is very responsible, knowledgeble and willing to teach and share.
Engineering - Master
Most beneficial aspect: Lots of different choises and ways to understand french. Paper, magazines, videos, audios and more.
Arts_and_science - Diploma
Most beneficial aspect: Good mix of activities - Vocabulary enhancement, practical applications, current events, reading, culture, and interview questions. Producing a specific business CV was enormously helpful.
