In their search for job candidates, employers and recruiting agencies are flocking to social media en masse. So it now takes more than a great resume and killer cover letter to set you apart in your job search; you need to know how to create a unique and compelling online presence.

In this seminar, you'll learn how to create your personal brand and to communicate it on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter as well as through blogging in ways that will make you stand out and get noticed in the increasingly competitive and complex job market.

Harold Simpkins and Jordan Lebel
Leader Biography:
Harold Simpkins and Jordan Lebel co-developed the award-winning online course, Marketing Yourself and co-authored Marketing Yourself, the book. Since its introduction in 2004, more than 8000 students have enrolled in the course; it has been featured on CBC Newsworld and CTV as well as in the Montreal Gazette. The Canadian Association for Distance Education bestowed Marketing Yourself with its award for excellence in innovation and instructional design.

Harold Simpkins has been a professor of marketing at Concordia University for more than 30 years and is a winner of the John Molson School of Business Distinguished Teaching Award. He is the Academic Director of the JMSB Marketing Co-op Program and coaches a number of JMSB teams in inter-university marketing competitions. From 2006 to 2009, Professor Simpkins was the president of Youth Employment Services, a not-for-profit organization which helps young people find jobs and start businesses in Quebec.

Jordan LeBel is an Associate Professor in the department of marketing at Concordia's John Molson School of Businessand the director of the newly created Luc Beauregard Center of Excellence in Communications Research at Concordia. He has received John Molson School of Business's Dean's Award for Teaching, Concordia's President's Award for Excellence in Teaching, and the first MBA Student Choice Award in 2011 for his course " Experience Marketing".
