ON-CAMPUS ACTIVITIES
How to Navigate the Graduate and Professional Skills website
Concordia Graduate and Professional Skills has partnered with on-campus and external providers to offer graduate students and postdoctoral fellows access to a wide range of skills development workshops and online resources. The website provides multiple options to search for the resources you need:
  • SKILLS – resources are listed according to 10 distinct target skills, which are based on the domains identified as critical for graduates to develop by the Canadian Association of Graduate Studies (2008). Use this search strategy to find resources that are specific to individual skills.
  • Professional Development – identifies the tools you need to transition into specific professional fields. Use this search strategy to learn more about what you need to move ahead in different employment sectors.
  • Graduate Training – highlights those areas of development, and the relevant workshops, that are critical for making the most of your time in graduate school. Use this search strategy to find out what resources can help you to succeed in your studies.
  • Build Your Toolkit – this function allows you to tailor your search for resources to those workshops that are of most relevance to your discipline and stage of progress in your program.
  • Search – generates a list of workshops based on the terms entered in the search field.
  • Calendar - Looking for a workshop that fits your schedule? Check out listing on the Calendar page.
  • Providers – Interested in the services offered by a particular provider? Click on the Provider page for a list of workshops and resources.
  • Feedback - We are always open to your suggestions for improving workshops, additions to the website or ideas for new workshops and resources. Click on the Feedback page and select the form that meets your needs.
